Spider-Man 2 - Review
by vxt(July 8, 2004)
Tobey McGuire is back as Spider-Man/Peter Parker in Spider-Man 2. Also back are Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane Watson and James Franco as Harry Osborne. New comers include Alfred Molina as Doc Ock/Dr. Otto Octavius.
Spider-Man 2 is faster and has better action than the original Spider-Man. The fight scenes between Spider-Man and Dr. Octopus are amazing. This movie more so than the first is us living through Peter Parker/Spider-Man. We don't get as much from the other characters which was a little disappointing to me. The movie pretty much revolves around Peter Parker and his internal struggles with his identity. There is also a lot more humour in this movie. One thing I find about both Spider-Man movies is that there are a lot of little cheesy scenes that I could do without. But other than that it's a great movie.
Unlike my review of the original Spider-Man movie, I will rate this movie on its own merits rather than giving it an extra 1/2 star because I am a Spider-Man fan.
